The trip was excellent. We undertook a private tour through Namibia that was designed with input from Dirk. From start to finish the tour was fabulous. The accommodation we stayed in greatly exceeded our expectations, particularly as we had requested mid range establishments and most seemed to be way above the mid level.
Dirk Reiche, our Namibia-Experience Travel Expert, who assisted in planning our trip, was excellent. We had been consulting with Dirk over 18 months planning and organising this trip. Dirk was fantastic and very patient. He always replied to any question (and there were many) in a timely, professional and friendly manner. Providing advice where needed. We would certainly request Dirk to organise any future trips to Africa, not only those to Namibia.
The price-performance ratio was excellent. As mentioned previously – the accommodation in which we stayed in was outstanding. The quality of the food at the establishments was also very good, including their ability to meet Juan’s dietary requirements.
We would definitely recommend Namibia-Experience to others. We could not fault any aspect of this tour. From Dirk (Travel Agent) organising all the accommodation, safari activities etc to Sam our driver/guide for the trip, who ensured all our daily activities ran smoothly. We could not have asked for two more dedicated and professional individuals to deliver this tour for us.
Our driver/guide Sam was absolutely fantastic and we all thoroughly appreciated his commitment to performing his job to the highest possible standard. He was aware of Juan’s lactose intolerance so he made sure the accommodation establishments had meals suitable to his needs.
He was aware of our specific wildlife preferences and would do the best he could to find the relevant animals. This often meant he was at lodges talking to other guides to obtain information about what they had seen and where. He was incredibly good at spotting animals which is probably due to his extensive experience as a tour guide. He even spotted a chameleon in the middle of the dirt road on the way to Waterberg which enabled us to get out of the vehicle and spend some time to observe it.
Jenny is a keen photographer and Sam would always try to place the vehicle in the best possible position for her to take photographs. He was aware of keeping the sun behind the photographer rather than the animals.
If we were undertaking this tour again we would definitely ask for Sam to be our guide. We cannot speak highly enough about him as a person and his commitment to his job. He was a very safe driver and never did we feel uncomfortable with the way he conducted himself on the roads.
We asked for our tour to be priced for mid range accommodation. We were pleasantly surprised to find that establishments exceeded our expectations not only in terms of quality of fittings but also the quality of the food.
The safari itinerary was excellent. We wanted the focus to be the wildlife but to also see the unique elements of Namibia’s landscape. We believe our tour fully met our expectations.
The Elegant Guesthouse was the perfect accommodation to start and finish our Namibian tour. It was located in a quiet area and the city centre was an easy walk from the Guesthouse.
The positive experience from our Namibia tour means that we would certainly consider using Africa-Experience organisation again for any future travel to Africa.
