For me the whole trip could have been some days longer with more time for a few rests at some pleasant lodges, but I guess for people who are still working the length of the visit was perfect.
The atmosphere within the group and especially with our guide and driver Simon has been excellent. Simon was a very knowledgable guide and an excellent driver throughout the whole trip.
The size of the group was really good with 9 person plus our guide, a larger group would certainly decrease the atmosphere of the whole trip.
An overnight stay inside the Sossusvlej area would increase the experience of climbing Big Daddy and see the sunrise in the dunes.
The whole trip is best for people who like hiking in different scenes without getting exhausted. Climate was perfect in Namibian autumn, not too hot and with green regions due to some rain during these weeks.

(Thank you Lee and Jodene!). We were assigned to a really great guide, called Obi, who drove us perfectly, all the way from Windhoek to Chobe! Obi was very easy to get along with, (which was great!); a very careful driver; very knowledgeable on all places we drove through and visited, along with vast knowledge on all wildlife encountered! We found Obi to be receptive and flexible to any suggestions we made, for changes to our day plans or our timings for starting our days, of which we were very thankful for. Overall, we had a really fabulous trip from start to finish. With great memories being made, and a longing to return at some point in the future. Thank you ‘African Overland Tours’ and Obi!

We travelled from Windhoek to Chobe covering over 4,500 kms with Obi providing expert commentary and information and managing our stops in a variety of accommodation. Obi proved a veritable font of information on flora, fauna, geography and geology and was also a wonderful and engaging host to travel with. His driving was flawless and he was able to resolve all the minor issues and difficulties that invariably arise on such an adventure!


We cannot recommend Obi highly enough and would happily engage him again should the opportunity arise.

From the very beginning, Liz was a pleasure... read more to deal with. She was friendly, professional, and always quick to reply, and she really listened to what we wanted. She put together a 13-day itinerary that fit our interests, pace, and budget perfectly, and it was clear a lot of thought had gone into the planning. Nothing felt generic — every stop made sense and flowed well.

Once we arrived in Namibia, everything ran very smoothly. Transfers, routes, and accommodations were well organised, and we could just relax and enjoy the experience without worrying about logistics.

Our driver and guide Felix truly made the trip special. He was extremely knowledgeable about Namibia — its history, wildlife, and especially birds — and was always happy to share what he knew. Just as importantly, he was very kind and attentive. The weather was very hot at times, and my mother has some back issues, but Felix was always careful, patient, and thoughtful, making sure she was comfortable and never rushed. He was also just genuinely nice company, which matters a lot on a long road trip.

As for Namibia itself, it’s an incredible country. The landscapes are diverse and breathtaking, the wildlife and plant life are fascinating, and meeting people from different communities and tribes added so much depth to the journey. It’s easily one of our most memorable trips.

I would happily recommend both Namibia as a destination and Namibia Experience / Africa Experience as a travel agency, and wouldn’t hesitate to travel with them again.
