The accommodations were consistently excellent, adding comfort and charm to the experience. We also had a dedicated driver/guide, Felix, who made the journey even more special. He was funny, kind, and highly professional. Having a knowledgeable local guide was incredibly valuable in many situations, and Felix always made us feel safe, informed, and well taken care of.

The tour and journey with Namibia Expereince was made great because of our tour guide Obi. He was very kind, knowledgeable, funny, and patient, and was so easy to travel with. We would definitely recommend this journey to others who are open for some adventure and want to see the beauties of Namibia! Of course it felt like there was a lot of driving at times, but we still think this was the best way to see as much as we did in only around 2 weeks.

Our only feedback to the tour organizers would be to maybe open up for more 'alone time', as we felt there was an expectation to have breakfast and dinner together with the group almost every night. Seeing as we spent the whole day seeing things or travelling together with the group, it would have been nice to have some more private time in the mornings and evenings, with maybe just a few group dinners. Other than that we had no complaints, and once again want to send a big thank you to Obi!

  Hofni Haimbodi our guide made the trip exceptional  - As an older solo male, I spent 13 long days in a 4by4 with a native guide, Hofni (a 45 year old from a norther Namibian tribe), and three ... read more fellow tourist couples. Two aspects of this trip, getting to know the couples well and observing/experiencing the desert and animals made it exceptional. Hofni's objective was to provide us with a taste of his country ( people, food, nature and landscapes) every day with him trying to add extra each day to relieve the driving fatigue ( bumpy, dusty, gravel roads). His contacts appeared endless as we went and he ensured we had close up observations of all major animals ( leapard, black and white rhinos, elephants, lions, giraffe, etc). In a few cases he and another guide worked together to track big game, so to speak, including a leapard ( very rare to sight) who finally sat on top of a termite mound for us to take pictures. Hofni also provided us with an insight to the Namibian culture and current society, ills and all. We had many laughs and exciting moments as a group with Hofni subtly managing us to keep us safe and fully experience the beautiful Namibia ( deserts, wildlife, food, and people). We met couples trying to drive the route on their own, but we could see they missed some exciting places and had car trouble with the rough driving. Also they missed the enjoyment of engaging conversation with new like minded folks. But still a great adventure i am sure!
Too many side bar adventures to list here, but overall the food was great, especially for meat eaters, even the house wine was good, accommodations were all clean and comfortable and many in spectacular locations, even the so called tent lodges. A trip worth doing!!!
I had planned to pay for a short flight from Swakopmund to get an overview of the dunes rolling into the ocean. But instead drove south on a jeep tour. This was a very exciting side adventure in which I saw a lot including a jumping humpback whale, a jackal sauntering the beach with a dead prey in its mouth, and experienced a very adrenalin filled drive over the dunes for several hours. To be honest it felt like the car was out of control as we went over the dune peaks and drove/slid 200 to 400 feet down each dune. Loved it, even if my heart had a workout!

  Great experience! Definitely recommend!  - We just returned from a 11-day trip in Namibia from late Sep to mid Oct. We started to plan the trip in June. Then we realized it was a bit... read more late due to limited supply of accommodations inside of or close to the national parks. I contacted several agencies highly ranked on tripadvisor. Dirk from Namibia Experience was the only one whose quotation was specific about which hotels were available if I confirm the trip immediately. Although we didn’t get to stay at any hotels inside of the national park, the hotels Dirk recommended either got good reviews or are close to the entrance of the national parks. We love Vingerklip Lodge and Camp Sossus. Dirk was also instrumental in helping us to get eVISA (which is more complicated than the visa on arrival), and gave us clear guidance on tipping. Another reason why we chose Namibia Experience was because its website has many information, including which type of vehicle for a group of 4 like us (a 8-seater). Another agency’s fleet got only 5-seater or 10-seater. Namibia Experience also offers online payments, which can be a big plus for some tourists.

Our guide Taedza has 20+ years of experiences. I’ve been to Kenya and Tanzania for safari, so I know having an eagle eye to spot the animals, knowing how to differentiate the male & female, sharing knowledge about their habitual behaviors, driving safely, and knowing how to fix the issues with cars (we had a flat tire 3 times, and one door was broken) are all basic skills a guide/driver in Africa need to have. Taedza is very knowledgeable. He can talk about geology, botany, history, and astrology. He even made cocktails for us during a sundowner. One of my friends love to ask tricky questions. Taedza would go find the answers, while other guides simply said they don’t know. He also made good recommendations to our itinerary; we dropped one spot to look for desert elephants, which was a big surprise of the day. I invited him to our dinner to celebrate my friend’s birthday, and he suggested to get the hotel to make a birthday cake and did all of the coordination with the hotel. I didn’t book the transfer from our apartment in Windhoek to the airport, and he helped us to arrange a taxi company, whose quotation is 30+% cheaper than our taxi from airport to Windhoek. It’s also worth mentioning that his English pronunciation is very good, which are important for us who are not native English speakers.
