Tonight, we’ll settle in at an enchanting campsite, surrounded by the wild beauty of nature. Our path leads us to the breathtaking Kunene River, the natural border with Angola, a stunning landscape that captures the spirit of Africa. As we pause to soak in the beauty of the falls and the surrounding area, take a moment to relax and connect with this extraordinary environment.

Tomorrow, we’ll dive deep into the heart of the Kaokoveld, where the true magic of Namibia awaits. The excitement is palpable as we prepare for this unforgettable expedition!

Today, we embark on an extraordinary journey into the heart of the Kaokoveld, far from the distractions of civilization for the next seven nights.

Leaving the tranquil Kunene behind, we’ll traverse the rugged back roads toward Van Zyl’s Pass, where the spirit of adventure truly ignites. The road may be slow, but every moment brings us closer to the wild beauty that awaits.

As we finally arrive at our campsite in the afternoon, we’ll be greeted by breathtaking views of the majestic Otjihipa Mountains. This is more than just a destination; it’s an invitation to immerse ourselves in the raw, untouched landscapes of Namibia, where every sunrise and sunset will etch unforgettable memories into our hearts.

Today, we’ll traverse the stunning Joubert’s Pass, a thrilling route that promises both challenges and breathtaking views all the way up to Rooidrom. The journey may be slow in places and require some technical finesse, but every twist and turn reveals the rugged beauty of Namibia, urging us onward.

In the late afternoon, we’ll arrive at our wild campsite in the enchanting Marienfluss area, where the landscape opens up in all its raw glory. As the sun begins to dip below the horizon, painting the sky with vibrant hues, we’ll gather around the campfire, sharing stories and laughter under a blanket of stars.

This is not just a stop; it’s a celebration of the wild heart of Namibia!

We rise with the sun, leaving camp early after a nourishing breakfast, eager to embrace the day ahead. Our journey takes us back through the stunning Marienfluss Valley, where the beauty of the landscape unfolds in every direction.

As we make our way to Rooidrom, anticipation builds for the adventures that await. From Rooidrom, we’ll head west toward Bloudrom, surrounded by the majestic beauty of Namibia’s wild heart. As the day unfolds, we’ll find ourselves in the captivating Groendrom region, where we’ll discover the perfect spot to set up camp for the night.

Keep your eyes peeled for the mysterious Stonemen scattered throughout this enchanting area; their presence adds an air of magic to our surroundings.

Tonight, as we gather around the campfire, we’ll share stories and soak in the awe-inspiring beauty of Namibia beneath a star-studded sky.

Day 9 – 10 | Ondusengo River – Hoarusib River

As the first light of day appears, we’ll enjoy a nourishing breakfast to energise us for the adventures ahead. We’ll then head south, exploring the captivating landscape as we head to Puros.

Today will challenge your driving skills as we tackle the demanding terrain of river sand, corrugation and rocky tracks. By late afternoon, we’ll arrive in Puros, set up camp, and savour the comfort of a hot shower.

On Day 10, you’ll have a chance to relax around camp. For those interested, there’s an option to join the guide on a scenic drive along the tranquil Hoarusib River in search of the elusive desert elephants.

Day 11 | Hoarusib River – Hoanib River

After two nights of blissful immersion in nature, we bid farewell to Puros and set our sights southward.

Just outside of town, we venture off the beaten path, taking the less-travelled road through the enchanting Rhino Valley. This breathtaking region is renowned for its wild populations of desert black rhino, lions, and elephants, and the thrill of encountering such majestic creatures fills the air.

As we arrive in the mid-afternoon at the junction of the Hoanib and Mudarib rivers, the landscape opens up in a stunning display of Namibia’s rugged beauty. A short drive up the Hoanib River leads us to our wild campsite for the night, where we’ll settle in amidst the serene surroundings.

As evening falls, we’ll gather around the campfire, sharing stories and marvelling at the untamed spirit of Namibia that envelops us.

We kick off the day with an early breakfast, energised and ready for the adventures that await us! Our journey takes us back to the majestic Hoanib River, where we’ll travel up the dry riverbed toward Sesfontein, a vital stop for refuelling both our vehicles and our spirits. Here, we’ll stock up on drinks, ensuring we’re well-prepared for the thrilling days ahead.

After Sesfontein, we’ll venture south along the main road to the start of the Desolation Valley 4×4 trail, a route that promises unforgettable landscapes. As we descend into the Huab River and the haunting beauty of Desolation Valley, we’ll be surrounded by the raw, rugged charm of Damaraland.

Tonight, we’ll wild camp along this breathtaking route, immersing ourselves in the stunning silence of the Namibian wilderness. As the stars twinkle above us, we’ll feel the wild pulse of this extraordinary land, making memories that will last a lifetime. Adventure awaits in every corner of Damaraland!

As the sun sets, we’ll gather under a canopy of stars, sharing stories and laughter, forever touched by the wild heart of Damaraland.
