Day 2 | Etosha National Park

Etosha National Park

The animal kingdom rises early in the morning, and you will want to follow its lead. The mornings are a great time for game viewing, particularly in Namibia where the midday temperatures can become hot. The Etosha National Park is home to many fantastic creatures and together with your guide you begin your search. Keep your eyes peeled for lions, hyenas, giraffe, wildebeest and much more. Should an elephant cross your path, take your time to admire it closely. For they are often caked in white clay to protect themselves from the sun and have been nicknamed the “ghosts of Etosha” because of this. The word Etosha itself means ‘Great White Place’ and it is worth stopping at the Etosha Pan to spend some time quietly peering into the immense and flat salt pan. One can get lost in one’s own thoughts here. As the evening starts to move in, you make your way back to your camp for another delicious meal with plenty of new memories to savour.

Day 3 | Etosha National Park

Etosha National Park

No two days are ever the same on safari. You can never predict what nature has in store for you. So, today you start on another game drive, bright and early. Maybe you want to try your luck at the same watering holes as the day before, or perhaps you wish to see different ones. As the Etosha landscape is usually quite dry, animals tend to frequent the various waterholes to quench their thirst. It is not uncommon to witness a host of different animals all sharing the same waterhole. This can create an amazing wildlife spectacle. You are in no rush today, so relax and enjoy the show. As your safari continues, you proceed through the east of Etosha, towards the direction of the Von Lindequist Gate. After plenty of game viewing, you exit the park and arrive at your camp for the night, the lovely Onguma Bush Camp. Enjoy a mouth-watering three course dinner, with a view of the camp’s waterhole.

A tour of the facilities is included and in this hour, you will gain a better understanding of the challenges these elegant animals face in today’s world. From here it is only a short distance to your accommodation for the evening. The beautiful Waterberg Guest Farm, offers great walking trails should you be in the mood to stretch your legs a bit.
