“Breathtaking impressions. A perfectly organised tour. Excellent accommodations. Great food. Everything worked out really well. Above all, however, it became clear to us again: A trip like this stands or falls with the guide. We had the best you can imagine. Mattheus knows the country like no other.”Patrick | Germany

Distance approx. 200 km; driving time approx. 3 hours
Adventurous days often start early in the morning and today is no different. The gates of the Namib-Naukluft Park open at sunrise and you do not want to be late. Because once in the park, you will find a secluded desert dune from which the beautiful morning light can best be enjoyed. Here you can also enjoy your breakfast picnic before continuing on towards the Deadvlei and Sossusvlei area. Your guide may even make use of your vehicle’s 4×4, off-road capabilities along the way. Once in the Deadvlei, you can marvel at the over 500-year-old dead trees standing against the imposing desert dune backdrop. A fantastic scene for any photographer. You also visit the Sesriem Canyon and descend into the gorge on foot, to walk along the now dry riverbed. From here it is only a short drive back to your camp, where you can spend the afternoon at your leisure. Dinner will be a mouth-watering meal and can be taken under the stars.

You start your journey today by driving through the Gaub and Kuiseb canyons, through their passes and over dry riverbeds. Then just when you think you have gotten used to the different desert landscapes, you are surprised by something new – on the horizon you can see the ocean. The Atlantic Ocean in fact. You first visit the Walvis Bay lagoon for a photo stop, before driving along the coast to Swakopmund. The seaside town of Swakopmund offers plenty of sightseeing and has an interesting history. You spend the night at the Organic Stay Guesthouse. In the evening you can delight in a delicious supper at one of Swakopmund’s many good restaurants (optional).

Swakopmund – Windhoek
Distance approx. 470 km; driving time approx. 5 hours
After breakfast you make your way back to Windhoek. But the day still has plenty to offer. Along the way you stop at the Spitzkoppe Mountains. The granite peaks tower over the otherwise flat and arid landscape. Here a local guide will show you some of the prehistoric rock art, created by the San/Bushman tribes of the region. Much of it is well preserved and you may feel transported back in time when visiting this almost mystical location. Further along, you stop in Okahandja where some handmade souvenirs from the woodcarvers’ market can be bought, before continuing to Windhoek. Once in the capital city, your 4 day tour in Namibia will come to an end and your guide will either drop you off at the airport or at a guest house, with many new memories and impressions to savour.
