visited Namibia on our Namibia’s Untouched North – guided lodge safari

Dear Sven,

In my opinion, this tour is ideal for travellers who have been to Namibia before following the normal tourist routes, and now look for some adventure, not minding long driving distances. We have been to Namibia three times and we truly enjoyed this tour off the beaten track. It also was a pleasure for us having enough time at each accommodation in order to lean back and relax.

All accommodations were either good or very good, except for Fort Sesfontein Lodge though. Although being strategically well located for exploring the Kaokoveld, it felt like no maintenance work has been done since the reconstructions in 1995. At Omarunga Lodge, we stayed in a tent right at the bank of the Kunene River, and at Düsternbrook, we had a villa with stunning views over the dry riverbed.

It was certainly a big plus being the only two on tour with Armin and having more than enough space for our backpacks etc in our vehicle “Johanna”. He always drove safely on roads that sometimes were quite difficult. We could not have wished for a better guide than Armin. I can’t name a field (zoology, ethnology, geology, astronomy, history…) he couldn’t tell us anything about. He was very attentive and obliging and always eager to accommodate us. We had a lot of fun with him and were kind of sad when we had to say our goodbyes to him at Ondekaremba.

Kind regards, especially to Armin
