Feedback from Gisela and Engelbert Buchta

visited Namibia on an individual self-drive tour

We flew from Frankfurt to Windhoek. The vehicle pick-up went smoothly. We had a 4×4 Renault Duster and travelled 4,500 km; fuel costs were relatively low. Our car was very reliable and, above all, dust-proof. The lodges were very beautiful, except the Central Lodge in Keetmanshoop. For us, the most amazing lodges were the Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch near Mariental, the Fest Inn Fels Lodge at Koiimasis, located in the Tiras Mountains, and the unique Rostock Ritz Desert Lodge in the Gamsberg region.

We also enjoyed staying at the guest farms Otjohotozu and Hohewarte. All accommodations were very clean and the staff was really helpful and friendly.

I wouldn’t again plan a visit to the Etosha National Park via the Andersson Gate. It was extremely busy, off-road vehicles were rushing from waterhole to waterhole with no respect for others who enjoyed interesting wildlife sightings or just stopped to look around. People become more and more inconsiderate and think of nothing but themselves.

Nevertheless, it was a wonderful trip. If the flight wasn’t so long, we’d love to visit anytime again. This journey definitely is one to remember. We also very much appreciated meeting Benjamin Brand and his assistant, they gave us many valuable tips. Once again, thank you for planning and organizing our tour.
